
Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, and the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, were among four eminent Nigerians honoured yesterday at the 4th Founder’s Day and 1st Convocation Ceremony of Oduduwa University (OUI), Ipetumodu, Osun State.
Both were honoured with doctorate degrees by the university for their excellent management of the Nigerian economy.
The two other awardees were the Nigerian First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, who bagged an honourary doctoral degree in Public Administration, and Prof. G.A. Olawoyin (SAN), an honourary doctorate degree in Law.
A total of 166 students were graduated by the university, 18 of them with First Class Honours; 63 with Second Class Upper; 82 with Second Class Lower and with Third Class Honours.
The ceremony would kick off with the installation of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, as the Chancellor by the Vice Chancellor, Prof J. Adeleke Ogunwale.
