Senate observes a minute silence for victims of NAF accidental bombing

The Nigerian Senate has observed a minute silence in honour of those who died on Tuesday in the accidental bombing by a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jet of a civilian community/IDP Camp in Rann, Borno State. The number of victims has been put by some at upwards of 200 persons.

The minute silence followed a Point of Order raised during Wednesday’s plenary in the Senate Chamber by Senate Leader Ahmed Lawan.

Deputy Senate President Ekweremadu, who presided over the session, expressed the sincere condolences of the Nigerian Senate to the affected civilians, praying that there shall be no recurrence of such grave mistake in the country
