Brazil 2014 ticket hunt: Omeruo bounces back as Keshi unveils list of players to finish off Ethiopia

Fit-again Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo has been recalled by Coach Stephen Keshi to the Super Eagles as Nigeria prepares to complete the routing of Ethiopia to pick a Brazil 2014 World Cup. Omeruo injured his shoulder while on duty for Nigeria at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil in June. He has since undergone surgery and recovered fully to rejoin the Chelsea squad training.

Scotland-based midfielder Gabriel Reuben has also been recalled after long-term injuries, otherwise coach Stephen Keshi is keeping faith with the squad that beat Ethiopia 2-1 last month in the first leg in Addis Ababa. Nigeria host Ethiopia on November 16 in Calabar before jetting out to engage Italy in a friendly at Craven Cottage, home of EPL side Fulham, on November 18.
Defending Omeruo’s recall, Keshi said: “Kenneth has returned to full fitness and played for the Chelsea’s reserve at the weekend and I feel it’s only right for me to see how far he is measuring up. We have missed him in the team and now that he is back to action why not we have him for the next game?”

And on Gabriel the Big Boss said: “I am very happy that Gabriel has returned to full fitness. It’s being a while we had him on the team. We gave him time to recover fully from a nagging groin injury and now they he is fully back and fit, let’s see what he brings to the team.”

Keshi says he expects all 25 players to have arrived the team’s training camp at the Metropolitan Transcorp Hotel in Calabar by the Tuesday next week.
