Cubana Chief Priest, Dave Umahi
Socialite and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has called on President Bola Tinubu to remove Works Minister David Umahi, accusing him and another minister from the South-East of failing to deliver meaningful benefits to the region.
Chief Priest is especially reputed to be one of the close political allies of Seyi Tinubu and known to be involved in the City Boy Movement inspired by the president’s son to mobilise a second term for his father.
He made the call in a post on his Instagram page, where he criticised the performance of ministers from the region serving in Tinubu’s government.
He described Umahi as the second-worst minister the South-East had produced, arguing that the region had little to show for having one of its own in charge of the Ministry of Works.
In the post, the socialite also criticised an unnamed female minister from Imo State, whom he described as the worst minister the region had ever had.
Chief Priest argued that the ministers had failed to create visible opportunities for the Igbo people despite their positions in the Federal Government.
He wrote: “Always blabbing, The second to worst minister southeast ever had. We have nothing to show for it as a region that had minister of works. the worst minister na my sister from imo state that one na fluke of a minister. Asiwaju you gats change these failures of ministers for us, the one from my state can’t even get 1k votes for Asiwaju.
“Nobody for our state even know say we once had minister of finance, minister of trade & investment but Igbos no even see any opportunity, Minister Wey Dey beg to call meeting for am that one fit get vote. No Impact no level na boys just use mama cash out.”
The socialite also questioned the political value of the ministers to Tinubu, claiming that one of them would struggle to secure even 1,000 votes for the president in his home state.

His comments centred on what he considered the lack of tangible benefits for the South-East from the appointment of its indigenes to key federal positions.
Chief Priest did not provide specific examples of projects or policies to support his criticism in the post. His remarks represent his assessment of the ministers’ performance rather than an official evaluation of their records in government. (Take, excluding headline: GWG.ng)
