The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Kaduna State Chapter, has unveiled a digital transformation agenda to strengthen professional capacity and modernise its operations.
The Chapter is also seeking government support to sponsor members and Information Officers to the forthcoming World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), where it plans to showcase Kaduna State’s investment opportunities and cultural heritage.
These were contained in a communiqué issued after the Chapter’s October General Meeting, held at its Secretariat, opposite Obasanjo House, Yakubu Gowon Way, Kaduna.
The communiqué, signed by the Chapter’s Public Relations Officer, Latifah Ismail, said the Chairman, Malam Mohammed Abdullahi, MNIPR, outlined reforms focusing on digital innovation, professional development and institutional strengthening.
According to the communiqué, a membership needs assessment identified capacity building and digital competence as key priorities, prompting the introduction of a monthly or quarterly professional lecture series.
The Chapter also plans to digitise membership administration, communication, training platforms and institutional records to improve efficiency and members’ participation.
On the World Public Relations Forum, the Chapter said engagements were ongoing with the Kaduna State Government and other stakeholders to secure sponsorship for a large delegation.
It noted that the Forum would provide an opportunity to promote Kaduna’s investment potential in agriculture, solid minerals, ICT and infrastructure, alongside its rich cultural heritage, including the historic Nok civilisation.
Meanwhile, renowned communication scholar, Professor Samaila Mande, delivered a lecture on “Artificial Intelligence and Public Relations Practice,” urging practitioners to embrace AI responsibly without compromising professional judgment, creativity and ethical standards.
The meeting also commended the immediate past Chairman, Malam Haroun Malami, MNIPR, for his administration’s achievements, particularly the renovation and modernisation of the Chapter Secretariat.
Members urged the new Executive Committee to consolidate existing gains, strengthen partnerships and promote continuous professional development.
The Chapter reaffirmed its commitment to digital innovation, ethical communication and professional excellence, while seeking stronger collaboration with government and other stakeholders.
