The National President of the Niger Delta Youths for Good Governance (NDYFGG), Comr. Lucky O.O. Ukueku, has defended High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, Dr. Kestin Pondi and Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro over their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

In a statement issued to newsmen in Abuja, FCT, Comr. Ukueku stated that he is not a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and neither is he a supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. However, he will not stand by and watch anyone being attacked for supporting Mr. President, as it is their constitutional right to support whoever they choose to support.

Comr. Ukueku, who is the first elected Pioneer National President of the Presidential Amnesty Programme Scholarship Students Worldwide, expressed surprise over the criticism trailing some Niger Delta leaders for choosing to support Mr. President. He questioned whether it is because they did not support certain individuals’ choice of President or party presidential candidate.

He emphasized that politics should not be a do-or-die affair, noting that elections will come and go but we remain one Nigeria and one Niger Delta. According to him, nobody in Nigeria can force anyone to support his or her presidential candidate; people can only be convinced to vote for their preferred candidate.

Comr. Ukueku further noted that High Chief Tompolo has taken the sensitization for President Tinubu’s 2027 aspiration to a new dimension, taking the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement across Nigeria and beyond, including the diaspora.

He added that when Niger Deltans choose to support anyone, they do it to the end without compromise. He stated that because of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Dr. Kestin Pondi, Managing Director, Tantita Security Services and Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, have remained committed to ensuring victory for President Tinubu come 2027.

Comr. Ukueku said Tompolo has set a good path because of his relationship with the current administration and his support for the government to finish strong. He stressed that nobody should criticize Tompolo and his team for their choice of presidential candidate, as Tompolo did not force anyone to support President Tinubu but is only soliciting support for Mr. President.

On his own political stand, Comr. Ukueku said his presidential candidate is Prince Dr. Adewole Adebayo, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Presidential Candidate, because that is his party and he will definitely support his party come 2027.

He concluded that nobody should condemn anyone for supporting his or her choice of presidential candidate, as everyone has his or her own reason for doing so. He commended Tompolo and his team for standing for what they believe in and prayed that the Lord will continue to be their strength.
