FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed
The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu, describing his passing as a painful loss to the Corps and the nation.
In a condolence message, Mohammed said he received the news of Biu’s death with profound shock, noting that the loss extended beyond the deceased’s immediate family to the road safety community and Nigeria as a whole.
He described the late Biu as a distinguished officer whose career was defined by dedication, discipline and an enduring commitment to public service.
Biu, who joined the FRSC in its formative years, rose through the ranks to become the Corps’ seventh substantive Corps Marshal, serving from July 2022 to May 2024.
According to Mohammed, his years of service reflected a deep understanding of the Corps’ mandate and a firm commitment to improving road safety administration, operational effectiveness and institutional development.
The Corps Marshal said Biu’s contributions to the growth of the FRSC had secured him a place of honour in the organisation’s history, adding that his legacy would remain part of the foundation on which the Corps continued to build.
He said the death was not merely the loss of a former leader but also that of a colleague, seasoned professional and compatriot who devoted a significant part of his life to public service and the safety of Nigerians.
“On behalf of the Management and the entire workforce of the Federal Road Safety Corps, I extend my deepest condolences to his immediate family, friends, associates and all those whose lives he touched,” Mohammed said.
He added that the Corps shared in the family’s grief and prayed that Almighty God would grant them the strength to bear the loss.
Mohammed also prayed for Allah’s forgiveness for the deceased and for his admission into Aljannah (Paradise).
“Rest in peace, Dauda Ali Biu. Your service to the nation will not be forgotten,” he said. (Guardian)
