Obinna Igboebisi
By CHIEDU UCHE OKOYE
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Idemili North, Anambra House of Assembly election, Hon. Obinna Igboebisi, has said that Nigeria’s future is bright, saying that the country would overcome its challenges to realize its potentialities.
Igboebisi made the comment when he fielded questions from journalists at his Obosi country home on the eve of Nigeria’s sixty-six independence anniversary.
He affirmed that our country’s future is bright; and that it would surmount the hurdles placed on its path to realize its potentialities and achieve greatness.
“Nigeria has a great and bright future. And I am hopeful that it will overcome its security, economic, and infrastructural challenges to realize its potentialities and achieve its manifest destiny.
“So I am urging Nigerians to continue reposing hope and trust in our leaders; and I am begging them to continue contributing their quotas in the arduous task of nation-building,” Igboebisi said.
More so, Igboebisi pointed out the existence of ethnic hatred and suspicion among Nigerians, Nigeria’s culture of corruption, and Nigerians’ lack of patriotism as the factors, which are hindering our country’s development.
“If people from one ethnic group view other people, whose ethnic group is different from theirs with suspicion, there will be mutual distrust in Nigeria. And this situation does not make for national unity. And the existence of national unity in a country is the foundation of its development.
“And we must extirpate the culture of corruption in Nigeria as it is the cankerworm that is hindering our national development,” Igboebisi said.
