•Reaffirms support for Uzodimma

The APC Northwest Youth Alliance for Good Governance — a grassroots movement committed to good governance, sustainable development, and strengthening internal party cohesion — strongly condemns the incessant and unbecoming attacks by FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike, against members of the All Progressives Congress leadership.

Speaking to newsmen, yesterday, in Kano, the groups coordinator, Amb. Abdullahi Muhammad, said: “Mr. Wike’s recent statements, which include insulting and derogatory language directed at party leaders, are unacceptable and counterproductive during this crucial electioneering period”.

He continued: "His public attacks on eminent personalities, in particular His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State and Secretary of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, are especially regrettable”.

Recall, the rift between Wike and APC governors had descended to name calling as a result of the Minister’s Rainbow Coalition.

Speaking further, secretary of the group, group, Hon. Auwal Shuaibu, said: “H.E. Sen. Hope Uzodimma has given immense service and sacrifice to the APC. He has worked tirelessly to broaden the party’s acceptance in the Southeast and has continued to play a vital role in national party building. It is inappropriate for any individual to attempt to belittle or overshadow those contributions”.

He further stressed that, ”While we acknowledge Mr. Wike’s past role and contributions to our party, the APC, any, attempts to create division through sensational remarks — including his claim that he will not support Senator Uzodimma’s aspiration to become Senate President — are petty and unhelpful”.

Shuaibu concluded thus: “let it be clear: decisions about legislative leadership are the preserve of the National Assembly and the members of the party caucus. No single individual, however loud, should presume to dictate outcomes. Mr. Wike’s growing overzealousness and divisive posture threaten party unity at a time when cohesion is essential”.

The APC Northwest Youth Alliance for Good Governance condemned “in the strongest terms the insulting and inflammatory language used by Nyesom Wike, a PDP member, against APC leaders and made the following statements.”

It reaffirmed its full support “for H.E. Sen. Hope Uzodimma in recognition of his sacrifices, leadership, and crucial role in expanding APC’s reach in the Southeast and the country in general.”

The group called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu “to intervene swiftly to call Mr. Wike to order and restore discipline within the party, so that internal disagreements do not destabilize the APC during this sensitive electioneering season.”
