The Federal Road Safety Corps has announced a one-day traffic diversion on the Kaduna-Zaria axis of the A2 Highway on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

In a post on its X handle on Saturday, the FRSC said the diversion would take place at DK825, Kwaranza Village, at the intersection with the Kaduna-Kano Rail Line, between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

The Corps said the temporary traffic arrangement was necessary to facilitate the inspection of railway bridge beams under the Kaduna-Kano Rail Modernization Project.

The FRSC explained that “only one lane of the dual carriageway will be open to traffic” during the exercise.

It added that “appropriate caution signs, cones and diversion markers” would be deployed at the location, while FRSC patrol teams would be on ground “to manage traffic and ensure the safety of road users.”

The Corps urged motorists approaching the diversion to “reduce speed, exercise extreme caution” and “avoid overtaking around the diversion.”

It also advised motorists to plan their journeys and “use alternative routes where possible” to minimise delays.

The FRSC further urged road users to “strictly comply with all traffic control devices and instructions from FRSC personnel” throughout the exercise.
