Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested six suspected drug traffickers, including a 15-year-old female minor, over the alleged sale and distribution of illicit drugs in the state.

The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said the suspects were arrested as part of an ongoing crackdown on the sale and distribution of illicit drugs in the state.

He said the operatives, acting on credible intelligence during a routine patrol along Alegwe Street, off Owa Road, Agbor, raided a store suspected to be used for the sale of illicit drugs.

According to him, the police arrested Anabel Haruna, 18; Terhemen Faith, 19; Kaityo Abigail, 23; Iorkee Eunice, 26; Osomuri Emmanuel, 31; and a 15-year-old female juvenile during the operation.

Edafe said a search of a vehicle linked to the suspects led to the recovery of large quantities of Tramadol, Rohypnol and other suspected illicit substances.

He said the suspects and exhibits were in police custody, while investigation was ongoing to arrest other accomplices.

Edafe assured that the suspects would be charged to court upon the completion of the investigation. (Daily Trust)
