Former AFAN and PAN President, Kabir Faskari
Architect Kabir Ibrahim Faskari, former President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) and the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), has died in Turkey.
Faskari, who was also the Chairman of the Agriculture Business Group, reportedly died in Istanbul following complications arising from prostate surgery.
A friend of the deceased, who confirmed his death, said some of Faskari’s associates had recently visited him in Istanbul and spoke with him shortly before returning to Nigeria.
According to the friend, Faskari appeared to have developed complications after undergoing the surgery.
A source said that Faskari would be buried in Turkey, although details of the burial arrangements were not immediately available
Faskari was a prominent voice in Nigeria’s agricultural sector and played significant roles in farmers’ organisations, particularly through his leadership of AFAN and PAN.
He was also a strong advocate for farmers and regularly spoke on issues affecting food production, poultry farming and agricultural businesses in Nigeria.
The late agriculturist granted several interviews to journalists on agriculture and food security, providing insights into the challenges facing Nigerian farmers and the country’s agricultural sector.
Further details on his death and burial arrangements are expected to emerge. (AriseNews TV, excluding headline)
