Edo State Commissioner of Police, Patrick Daaor
Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested four suspects allegedly involved in cult-related activities in the State.
The suspects were arrested by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Command, in collaboration with personnel attached to the Government House Task Force, following credible intelligence.
The State Commissioner of Police, Patrick Daaor, said the suspects were arrested during an operation at Egbaen Community, off Ekenhuan Road, Benin City.
He listed the four suspects to include Nuka Joseph 27; Osatohamwen Ogor, 30, John Osewengie, 30, and Osezee Osayi, 29.
According to him, the operation led to the recovery of four locally fabricated pistols, one locally made Beretta pistol and one cut-to-size double-barrel gun.
He said the suspects had confessed to being membership of the Aiye Confraternity Cult.
Daaor said efforts were ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate. (Weekend Trust)
