Seven travellers have lost their lives in a ghastly road crash on Bida-Kutigi road in Niger State.
Residents told Daily Trust that the accident involved a Mazda with passengers travelling from Minna to Mokwa and a Siena bus coming to Minna from Lagos
One of the residents, Isah Ndako, told our correspondent that it was a head-on collision between Lanle community and Shabe-Kota on the Bida-Kutigi road.
The Niger State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Aishatu Sa’adu, who confirmed the incident, said seven people lost their lives on the spot, seven others sustained injuries while 4 were rescued without visible injuries.
“As at the time of FRSC rescue, the rescue team recorded 7 deaths; 7 injured and 4 not injured, a total of 18 people involved,” she said.
She said the injured victims and remains of those who lost their lives were taken to Kutigi General Hospital. (Weekend Trust)
