Gov Mbah and President Tinubu
Enugu State Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has been appointed Zonal Campaign Coordinator for the South-East in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections.
The full membership list of the council was released on Saturday, August 22, 2026, by the Presidency through Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. The announcement expands on earlier details of the council’s principal officers.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will chair the council. Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda serve as Vice Chairmen I and II respectively. Former Zamfara State Governor Senator Abdulaziz Yari is Director-General, while Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma is Secretary. Other key positions include Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru as Deputy Secretary and Hadiza Bala Usman as Assistant Secretary.
Mbah’s appointment places him in charge of coordinating the party’s presidential campaign efforts across the five South-East states. Other zonal campaign coordinators named include Senator Bassey Out (South-South), Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu (South-West), Governor Umar Bago (North-Central), Senator Modu Sheriff (North-East), and Governor Uba Sani (North-West).
The council, which includes members across various directorates, is tasked with mobilising support and showcasing the administration’s record ahead of the January 2027 presidential election. The release of the list marks a significant step in the APC’s organisational preparations for the polls.
