Lagos socialite and interior designer Ehi Ogbebor has opened up about her relationship with Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, describing him as one of her best friends and confirming that she dated him while he was married.
Speaking during an interview on the Chude Jideonwo Show, Ogbebor said MC Oluomo, whom she calls Ayinde, was the only married man she could openly admit to dating.
“MC Oluomo is one of my best friends.”
Asked if she was serious about the statement, she replied, “Really? Yes.”
Explaining her relationship with him, she said, “Ayinde, as I call him, that I know now, that’s the only man I will sit down and say yes, I did date him as a married man.”
She noted that his religion was not a barrier to his marital status, pointing out that Islam permits a man to have more than one wife.
“But he’s Muslim. Even bus conductors have four wives as Muslims.”
Ogbebor also spoke about public perceptions of her relationships, saying some people assume she goes after married men because of her appearance and financial status.
“I’ve had two failed marriages. With beauty, with money, I still had two failed marriages.”
She said people often have a different perception of her because of her public image.
“People have a complex when it’s Ehi. People said, ‘Oh, she’s always dating married men.’”
However, she denied breaking up marriages or taking people’s husbands.
“Contrary to what people think, I do not snatch people’s husbands. Like I said, I’m waiting for the wife to come and tell me how I snatched.”
Ogbebor was also asked about her relationship with Caroline Danjuma and allegations made against her by actress Etinosa. She dismissed the issues and questioned whether she had taken anyone’s husband.
“And also, we talked about Caroline Danjuma. Let’s skip her. Did I take her husband?”
On Etinosa, she said, “I don’t know her.”
The conversation also touched on claims that she uses juju, which Ogbebor rejected.
“People say she uses juju. I run from marriage because of juju. Like if I were your sister and I do juju, won’t you slap me?”
Speaking about her experience with marriage, Ogbebor said she got married young and later realised she had married someone she did not know well.
“She got married at 18. I married who I didn’t know. I actually think the marriage was nonsense.”
She also spoke about domestic violence she experienced during her marriage, recalling an incident in which she was badly beaten and lost consciousness.
“She was a victim of terrible domestic physical abuse. There was a day he beat me so bad. I passed out, I woke up, he was pouring olive oil in my mouth.”
Ogbebor further recalled being physically abused while pregnant.
“Her husband beat her when she was pregnant. He pushed me and I fell on my tummy.”
She said the situation continued even while she was bleeding, with her husband more concerned about their unborn child.
“While she was still bleeding… started asking the doctor for my son’s placenta.”
She also recounted what she described as financial abuse during the marriage.
“Financial abuse? He would give me a list and write it like, 2,000 for tomatoes, 1,000 for Maggi…”
Despite the criticism and comments surrounding her personal life, Ogbebor said she no longer allows such issues to affect her.
She added that she now prioritises her happiness and can afford to make choices for herself.
“I make enough money. Anything that will make me happy, I go for it.” (Nigerian Tribune)
