A capsized boat
Five people have been confirmed dead after a boat capsized on the Kudi River near Shaba Woshi Village in Katcha Local Government Area of Niger State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday.
Details of the incident remain sketchy, as the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) said it has yet to receive detailed information.
NSEMA said that, though it is not privy to all the details, it can confirm that the deceased were all males, namely Yahaya Abubakar, Usman Abubakar, Lamin Hussaini, Baba Ahmadu, and Salihu Aliyu.
In a bulletin shared by the Niger State Police Command, it was said that all the bodies of the deceased have been recovered and buried according to Islamic rites. (The Nation)
