Political appointees of Governor Monday Okpebholo have expressed shock about the redeployment of suspended Commissioner for Livestock Development, Prof. Omorodion Ikponmwosa, to the Ministry of Oil.
Omorodion was suspended last month alongside the State Project Coordinator, Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (LPRES) Project, Mrs. Ikpikhumi Aghaku, for alleged “official infraction”.
The redeployment of Omorodion, according to top government officials, took him aback.
They said no official explanation was given for the recall.
A close aide of Governor Okpebholo said: “We were surprised when we heard news that Prof. Omorodion has been redeployed. It was a shocking news to him.
“Prof. Omorodion was in abroad when he was suspended.’’
Governor Okpebholo has increased the number of ministries to 29, with the creation of Ministry of Inter-Ethnic Relations. (The Nation)
