Singer Ayra Starr and mother, Nene Aderibigbe
The family of Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has taken the promotion of her highly anticipated album, Starr Girl, directly to Lagos’s streets as excitement builds ahead of its release.
Ayra Starr’s mother, Nene Aderibigbe, popularly known as Genzmummy, and the singer’s sister were spotted taking part in a colourful street campaign to raise awareness of the upcoming project.
In a video shared online, the singer’s mother and sister, alongside other women dressed in coordinated outfits and wearing purple headgear, were seen riding in a car while holding handwritten signs promoting the album.
The signs carried a simple message, “STARGIRL album out on the 14th of August.”
The campaign comes just days before the scheduled release of Starr Girl, her third studio album. (The Nation)
