The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, has named a 16-member Caretaker Executive Committee to run its Eastern Zone, System 2E, for the next three months.

The inauguration was held in Calabar following the death of the immediate past Zonal Chairman, Chief Larry Nworuh.

National Secretary, Hon. James Tor, who represented National President, Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi Shettima, said the decision followed consultations with stakeholders in the zone.

“Following the demise of our Zonal Chairman, there was need to enthrone new leadership to pilot the affairs of the Association in System 2E,” Tor said.

He said the committee, led by Chairman, Chief Nsikan Ekpe Sunday, is mandated to ensure stability and prepare for credible elections in the zone.

Tor urged marketers, depot communities, and sister unions in Cross River and Akwa Ibom to support the CTC and commended the Cross River State Government and security agencies for providing a conducive business environment.

In his acceptance speech, Chief Sunday thanked the national executive and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in them.

A Calabar Zonal Task Force covering Cross River and Akwa Ibom was also inaugurated at the event.

IPMAN System 2E covers petroleum marketers operating in Cross River, Akwa Ibom and nine other states. (The Sun)
