The Plateau State Working Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has warned former Minister of Youth and Sport, Mr. Solomon Dalung, to refrain from interfering with the party’s constitutional structures in the state.
During a press briefing addressing the ongoing political tensions within the party, where some political figures are attempting to replace the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Brigadier General John Sura (rtd), the state chairman, Dung Dawang Pam, stated that the party has uncovered a plot to sabotage its efforts.
Pam also cautioned all individuals engaging in actions that could undermine the party’s legitimacy or create confusion to immediately cease such activities.
He emphasized that anyone found violating the party’s constitution will face appropriate disciplinary measures as outlined by the African Democratic Congress.
The ADC Chairman urged Solomon Dalung to concentrate on his political aspirations instead of creating unnecessary distractions that could threaten the unity and stability of the party.
He asserted that all attempts to substitute the party’s gubernatorial candidate with another person have been thwarted. Pam reaffirmed that Plateau State remains united, focused, and committed to building a stronger political movement capable of providing credible leadership for both Plateau State and Nigeria.
On 2027 general election, Dewan posited that the state chapter of ADC remains focused on strengthening party structures across all levels, mobilizing new members, and presenting a credible alternative to the people of Plateau State and Nigeria.
He expressed confidence that the ADC will emerge as the party to beat in the 2027 general elections, promising that the party candidates will present practical policies and people-oriented programs that will restore hope, promote development, and improve the lives of Nigerians.
“The State Working Committee (SWC), together with members of the State Executive Committee, party elders, stakeholders, and the seventeen Local Government Area Chairmen, stood firmly together and resisted every attempt to manipulate the affairs of the party. Their unity and commitment ensured that the integrity of our party was preserved.
“To further protect the mandate of our governorship candidate, the leadership of the Plateau State Chapter embarked on a strategic visit to the National Headquarters of our great party in Abuja.
The delegation held fruitful consultations with the national leadership and successfully defended the authentic outcome of the governorship primary election.”
All attempts to reach the former Minister of Youth and Sport, Mr. Solomon Dalung, were abortive, as he could not be reached on his phone. (Nigerian Tribune)
