By BOSEDE OLUFUNMI
The Kano State Government has approved the appointment of 19 new permanent secretaries and redeployed 14 serving ones across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state civil service.
The state Head of Civil Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu-Maimota disclosed this in a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment Office of Head of Civil Service, Rukayya Uba-Sulaiman on Tuesday in Kano.
According to the statement, the appointment is a call to greater responsibility and selfless service to people of the state.
It directed all affected permanent secretaries to work closely with their respective MDAs to advance the government’s development agenda and improve service delivery.
It also urged the appointees to discharge their duties with diligence, professionalism, integrity and accountability.
Shehu-Maimota expressed confidence in their ability to justify the trust reposed on them, and uphold core values of Kano State Civil Service through excellence, transparency and innovation.
The statement added that the appointments and redeployments take immediate effect, while all handing-over and taking-over processes are to be completed on or before August 12. (NAN)
