The Senator Representing Kano Central District, Rufai Sani Hanga has reaffirmed his membership of the National Democratic Congress ( NDC) dismissing speculations linking him to the All Progressives Congress ( APC).

Speaking to a local radio in Kano State on the subject, Hanga stated that, “ I still remains a member of the NDC and I have not made any plan of decamping to the APC”.

It could be rec’lled that Senator Hanga was at the weekend presented to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Villa by top APC Chieftais. Such presentation has now become a tradition for all prospective APC members.

Insiders insist that Hangas recent disclaimer may be linked to his position as the Deputy Minority Whip. They held that he would automatically lose the position once he officially defect to the ruling party.

Hanga, while speaking further, admitted that the NDC did not have the capacity to win the Presidency in 2027 adding that the party lacked the spread and strength needed to defeat the ruling APC In the forthcoming elections.

“NDC will lose Nigeria , they can’t make any impact but I am certain that they will win in Kano State , this I know and as for me, I still remain a member of my party” he stated.

Hanga also said that his relationship with the leader of the Kwankwassiyya Movement and Presidentialrunning mate of the party, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was still intact adding that they have mutual respect for each other. (The Sun)
