Governor Umo Eno has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu will inaugurate several projects during the 39th anniversary celebration of Akwa Ibom State in September.

Eno, who made the disclosure during the Executive Council meeting at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Uyo, listed the projects to be commissioned.

The projects include the New Airport Terminal Building, Airport Hospital, Aviation Village, the 14.5-kilometre Nsit Atai–Okobo Road, the dualised Ring Road 3, the Command and Control Centre, AkwaGIS, the State Secretariat Annex and the ARISE Palm Resort.

Accordingly, the Governor has directed all ministries, departments and agencies to intensify preparations to ensure a seamless presidential visit and the successful commissioning of 39 completed projects across the state.

Eno also approved the release of ₦31 billion, as provided in the 2026 Budget, to empower youths, women, traders, farmers, transport operators and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across the state.

Under the initiative, each of the 31 local government areas will receive ₦1 billion to fund youth skills acquisition, women’s cooperative support, traders’ business grants, agricultural support, SME development and transport empowerment schemes.

The programme is expected to benefit 165,912 people statewide.

To ensure effective implementation, the Governor constituted a committee headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, to work out modalities for the distribution of the intervention.
