Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has expressed grief about the recent deaths of prominent indigenes.

He described the losses as painful for the government and people of Yobe.

The governor’s condolence comes amid the recent deaths of two serving and former senior civil servants, including Permanent Secretary Dr. Bukar Aji and former permanent secretary, Alhaji Ligali Ma’aji, as well as a prominent female politician, Hajiya Mairiga Umar, alongside other personalities.

In a statement signed by Buni’s spokesman, Mamman Mohammed, the governor urged the citizens to pray for the repose of the deceased’s souls and to stand by their families ‘’during this difficult period.’’

The governor said: ‘’While death is inevitable and is ordained by Allah, the frequencies of the recent losses have left the state in mourning.

“As faithful, we all know death is a necessary end; it will always come at the prescribed time as ordained by Allah (SWT).”

He listed those who recently passed away to include the late Emir of Ngazargamu, Permanent Secretary Dr. Bukar Aji, former permanent secretary, Alhaji Ligali Ma’aji, Alhaji Yakubu Dokshi, Hajiya Mairiga Umar, Alhaji Kafchi Shettima and others.

The governor said the deceased made contributions to the development of Yobe State in capacities and would be missed.

“The deceased persons have, in their individual capacities, contributed greatly to the people and the state at large,” Buni said.

He described their deaths as a huge loss to their families, communities and the state, stressing that their legacies of service would remain unforgettable.

Buni, however, urged residents to accept the development as the will of Almighty Allah, saying believers must remain steadfast in times of grief.

He prayed for Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant them Aljannah Firdaus and give their families the strength to bear what he described as an irreparable loss. (The Nation)
