American rapper and singer, Sean John Combs, popularly known as Sean “Diddy”, has reportedly been placed in solitary confinement after an alleged altercation with another inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix in New Jersey.

According to NBC News and TMZ, which cited unnamed sources, the music executive was involved in a fight with a fellow inmate while serving his prison sentence.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on the reports, while USA TODAY said it had contacted Combs’ lawyer for a response.

The reported incident comes shortly after Combs’ projected release date was moved from April 2028 to February 8, 2028.

Although prison officials did not explain the specific reason for the adjustment, they noted that release dates can change due to factors such as good conduct time, credits earned through approved prison programs and activities, or time already served before sentencing.

This is not the first adjustment to Combs’ release date. In November, his expected release was pushed back to June 2028, days after his representative denied reports alleging that the Bad Boy Records founder had produced and consumed alcohol while in prison.

Before his sentencing, Combs wrote to the judge, saying he had become sober “for the first time in 25 years,” was attending therapy, and had launched a mentorship programme for fellow inmates.

His legal team is also seeking to overturn his conviction following his 2025 trial. A jury found him guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution involving two former girlfriends—Casandra “Cassie” Ventura Fine and an anonymous woman identified as “Jane”—as well as sex workers.

Combs has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct. He is also facing more than 70 civil lawsuits across the United States, including one filed on June 9 by a former child actor. (Saturday Tribune)
