Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar
Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, has explained the reason behind her decision to leave Islam and embrace Christianity, saying her conversion followed what she described as a miraculous healing from a mysterious illness that kept her bedridden for nearly nine years.
The actress disclosed that after years of battling the ailment and surviving what she called several near-death experiences, she became convinced that God had given her a second chance at life, prompting her to dedicate herself to serving Jesus Christ.
According to Halima, her recovery was not just a return to good health but a spiritual transformation that convinced her to publicly profess her new faith and share her testimony with others.
“I’m a brand new person now. I have given my life to Christ. I want to serve God because He has helped me. I almost died. They almost killed me. This is not about movies; this is about restoration and testimony. Halima Abubakar is back, big and better.
“Right now, I’m ready to serve God because He wants me to. He has delivered me, so I need to serve Him and preach His gospel to the people,” she said.
Halima also revealed that she would soon give a public testimony detailing how, according to her, God intervened through Queen Belemzy Ministries (School of Power) to restore her health after years of suffering.
Her revelation has attracted an outpouring of goodwill from fans and colleagues, many of whom congratulated her on what they described as a remarkable new beginning.
Actress Uche Ogbodo reacted by writing, “Alleluia.” Another admirer, @poshest_hope, commented, “Halima really went through a lot!! May her healing be permanent.”Best decision ever. The only place where she’ll find peace.”
Another follower, @symply_promise, added, “She really suffered. I’m so happy for her.”
Similarly, @hepatitisbc.herpes_totalcure prayed, “I really felt for her. May her healing be permanent in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Earlier this year, the actress revealed that she had been asked to vacate her apartment by her landlady despite plans to renew her tenancy. She also disclosed that she was still undergoing treatment, highlighting the emotional and financial burden of her prolonged illness.
With her latest revelation, Halima says she is leaving behind years of pain and uncertainty as she embarks on what she describes as a new life of faith, healing and restoration. (Sunday Tribune)
