Anatolia Energy and Services Limited, operator of Petroleum Mining Lease (PML) 104/Okiori Oil Field, has organised a three day leadership development program for members of the Nembe Okiori Host Community Development Trust as part of its strategic plan to build the capacity of the Trust to drive sustainable development of its Host communities in Nembe Kingdom, Bayelsa State in line with the Petroleum Industry Act(2021).

The capacity building program covers key aspects of HCDT management, including strategic leadership, management skills, teamwork, legal and regulatory framework for the operations of Host Community Development Trust, stakeholder management, and communication.

Speaking at the opening Plenary of the 3 days training, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Anatolia Energy, Dr Adeleke Adedipe encouraged participants to make the best of the program.

He said the Settlor has invested so much to put the training together to equip the Trust members to effectively manage the operations of the HCDT and ensure sustainable development in the communities as well as provide an enabling environment for the Settlor’s production operations.

The Commission Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), represented by its Bayelsa State Field Office Manager, Mr Sylvester Bighoro charged the members of Nembe Okiori Host Community Development Trust to take the leadership development program seriously and apply the knowledge gained in the running of the HCDT.

He expressed the Commission’s delight in the capacity building initiative of the Settlor.

The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Mineral Resources, represented by the Director of Petroleum, Engr Kuroakighe Simon Mathias, expressed gratitude to Anatolia Energy for organising the training for the Nembe Okirori HCDT.

He said the training will go a long way in enhancing the performance of the HCDT.

He further said the Bayelsa State Government will continue to support oil and gas companies to ensure smooth operation in the state.

The training faculty includes renowned leadership coach, Dr Emmanuel Dorgbaa of the African Institute of Public Speaking and Communications Excellence, legal luminary and commercial law expert, Barrister Folake Sadiq, Industry guru and public relations expert, Oyinkro Olobio.

The faculty reflects the intention of Anatolia energy to build the capacity of the HCDT members for long-term performance.

The Nembe Okirori Host Community Development Trust was inaugurated on 10th June 2025. The leadership development program will further position the Trust to effectively deliver its mandate for long-term development of the communities in partnership with the Settlor.
