A renowned veteran journalist in Taraba State, Elder Chief Ben Adaji, is dead.

Chief Adaji, who died at the age of 67, slumped in his room while dressing up to pay a condolence visit to a nearby family in his village in Kogi State, according to a family source.

Nigerian Tribune reports that Chief Adaji left Jalingo, Taraba State, on Thursday to supervise a personal project in his village when the unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday evening.

In separate statements, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Taraba State council, Comrade Mathew Eliot Jen, and the chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Dr Gabriel Youth, both described Elder Ben as a massive loss to the entire NUJ, particularly journalists practising in Taraba State.

They prayed that God forgive his shortcomings while on earth and grant his immediate family and the NUJ the fortitude to bear the loss. A burial date is yet to be announced by the family. (TRIBUNE)
