A fish seller identified as Zayyanu Yahaya has been praised for his honesty after returning an excess payment mistakenly transferred to him by a customer.

The customer, Arogbonlo Israel, in a video clip obtained by TRIBUNE ONLINE, narrated that the incident occurred while he was fixing his car and decided to buy fish from the trader.

According to him, he purchased fish worth N6,000 and asked the seller if he accepted bank transfers.

The fish seller reportedly informed him that he used an OPay account for transactions.

Israel explained that he immediately made the transfer and continued with what he was doing, unaware that he had mistakenly sent N60,000 instead of the agreed N6,000.

He said the trader later drew his attention to the error after noticing the amount credited to his account.

“Oga, you send 60k for my OPay,” the fish seller reportedly told him.

Israel said he quickly confirmed the transaction and discovered that he had indeed transferred N60,000 instead of N6,000.

He expressed appreciation to the trader for his honesty and rewarded him with a token from the refunded money. (Nigerian Tribune)
