The order followed an application dated May 6, 2026, brought pursuant to Section 6(6)(a) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), Order V of the Rules of the Honourable Court, and under the inherent jurisdiction of the court, at the instance of G.A. The application prayed the court for an order of interim injunction restraining the 1st to 11th respondents/defendants from parading themselves and exercising the powers and duties of the National Cashew Association of Nigeria (NCAN), as well as an interim order restraining the 12th respondent/defendant from recognising or dealing with the 1st to 11th respondents/defendants, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

Meanwhile, it would be recalled that, in a communiqué jointly signed by the NCAN National President, Dr. Ojo Joseph Ajanaku; National Secretary, Engr. Also, the Ajanaku-led NCAN convened a stakeholders’ engagement and Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM), during which it announced the suspension of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Irezondu Sunny Stevenson, and the BoT Secretary, Abraham Adesina, while referring their conduct to the disciplinary committee for investigation.
