In a bid to strengthen Nigerian pilgrims’ welfare services during the 2026 Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), has opened a 24-hour cloud-based call centre system in Makkah.
Speaking during the unveiling of the facility in Makkah, the Head of ICT, Shehu Raji, informed that the cloud-based system provided two-way platform to make and receive telephone calls directly from pilgrims, while providing real-time monitoring of received, missed and abandoned calls through a dedicated dashboard.
Raji disclosed that the call centre was currently operating with five active workstations with provision for expansion based on operational exigencies.
He assured that the Hajj commission would continue to improve on the call centre in line with its commitment to enhancing service delivery and pilgrims’ welfare.
Meanwhile, with the call centre functional now, NAHCON has encouraged Nigerian pilgrims currently in Saudi Arabia to contact the centre with a view to reporting issues relating to accommodation, feeding, transportation, health and other welfare concerns.
The commission stated that the initiative was part of its commitment to improving service delivery and ensuring a smooth Hajj exercise for Nigerian pilgrims.
It then listed the dedicated call centre numbers to be called to report any issues as +966565460059 and +966568608760.
NAHCON, however, stated that to ensure wider awareness, it would commence the distribution of stickers and information cards containing the contact numbers across pilgrims’ accommodations and strategic locations in Makkah, Muna and Arafat. (TRIBUNE)
