Prominent Obosi indigenes congratulated the Obosi monarch, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, on the honorary doctoral degree recently awarded to him by Bethany Bible Seminary, New Jersey, USA, praising him for the achievements he recorded in the areas of writing and communal leadership.

Igwe Iweka (Eze Iweka III), who is also, the Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers’ Council, was given an honorary doctorate of divinity and exceptional leadership award by the faith-based institution.

The award was presented to him by Bishop Miracle Vincent Fidelis, who is the President and Chancellor of the institution, at Igwe Chidubem Iweka’s Palace in Obosi, Anambra State.

The award Ignited the pouring of encomiums on the monarch by his subjects, who praised him for his leadership and literary achievements.

A prominent Obosi indigene, Hon. Obinna Igboebisi, who is aspiring to represent Idemili North Constituency in the Anambra State Assembly, described the honorary doctorate given to Igwe Chidubem Iweka as well-deserved.

“I would like you to know that Igwe Chidubem Iweka has recorded outstanding achievements in the areas of writing, literary scholarship, and leadership.

“He has written books that cover all the genres of literature. And they are studied in tertiary institutions because of their literary merits.

“And in the area of leadership, he has united the people of Obosi. And his leadership of the Anambra state traditional rulers’ council is commendable and worthy of emulation.

“So it is obvious to us that Igwe Chidubem Iweka deserves the award given to him,” Igboebisi enthused.

In his own remarks, another prominent son of Obosi, Prof. Nnamdi Onyire, who is a Professor of Paediatrics at Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Abakaliki, stated that the award, which Igwe Chidubem Iweka received, was a big plus for the ancient Obosi kingdom and Anambra State.

“It is another big plus for Obosi town and Anambra state.

“Everywhere, honorary degrees are given to people as recognitions for their lofty achievements in the areas of business, leadership or public life.

“So Igwe Iweka greatly deserves this honour from this accredited and reputable faith-based university for his great achievements in leadership and public life,” Onyire said.

More so, one of Igwe Chidubem Iweka’s subjects, Michael Afamefuna, stated that the institution’s award of doctoral degree to Igwe Iweka is a proof that the monarch’s spectacular achievements in diverse areas have not gone unnoticed.
