The federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Monday night announced the re-opening of some of the parts of Lagos – Ibadan Expressway following their rehabilitation by the contractor, RCC.
FRSC Ogun State Sector Commander Clement Oladele told News Express: “RCC constructing the Ibadan end of Lagos – Ibadan corridor, as promised last week, has today, 14 November, 2016 opened about 10km from Onigari to Fidiwo by Ogunmakin to traffic at both ways of the corridor although skeletal work still on-going in few portions of the road. FRSC has commenced mobile patrol on that portion of the road to tame excessive speed.”
FRSC had previously announced the closure of a section of the Ibadan – Lagos corridor by Sagamu interchange from November 3 to November 12 to enable the other contractor, Julius Berger, effect necessary repairs.
The project, which has yet to be completed, has led to traffic chaos which the commission has been battling to ease along one of the country’s busiest roads.
