Speculation surrounding the stability of the marriage between Nigerian businessman Olakunle Churchill and Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has reached a height following reports that the entrepreneur unfollowed his wife on social media.

Churchill shared a cryptic message on his Instagram story, which many have interpreted as a subtle commentary on his domestic priorities.

He wrote, “As a father, if I’m ever in a place where I have to pick between my kids or anyone/anything else… I’m picking my kids. Period!!!”

The development marks the latest chapter in a relationship that has been under public scrutiny since its inception. Churchill married Meurer in 2021, approximately three years after his high-profile and messy divorce from Nollywood superstar Tonto Dikeh.

The union was met with significant backlash, as Dikeh had previously accused Meurer of being the “third party” responsible for the collapse of her marriage.

At the height of those allegations in 2017, Meurer famously granted interviews where she denied any romantic involvement with Churchill. In a statement that many still talk about today, she described Churchill as being “like a brother” to her, citing his role as a mentor and family benefactor.

Amidst Churchill’s reconciliation with ex-wife, Tonto Dikeh, Meurer took to Instagram Live to address the public. During the session, she sought to clarify the “brother” narrative that has trailed her for years.

She explained that at the time of her initial comments, their relationship was strictly platonic and professional, as he was helping her career and was close to her family.

“He was like a brother to me then,” she stated, defending the evolution of their relationship from a familial bond to a romantic one.

During the live broadcast, Meurer also denied rumors that she had unfollowed Churchill, even demonstrating on her phone screen that she was still following his account, attributing any discrepancies to technical glitches or games played by bloggers.

The current friction follows a moment of public reconciliation between Churchill and his ex-wife, Tonto Dikeh.

The former couple recently made headlines when they were spotted together to celebrate the 10th birthday of their son, King Andre.
