Popular actor Nkem Owoh, alias Osuofia, who is currently making waves as an MTN brand ambassador, has received an unexpected visit from men of the underworld.
Osuofia (shown in photo) features prominently in the TV commercial marketing MTN’s controversial promo promising the winners an aeroplane.
News Express reports that it is not unlikely that the robbers who raided Osuofia’s Enugu residence in south-east Nigeria believe that the comic veteran has hit it big as a result of his running contract with telecom giant MTN.
In an interview reported by a number of newspapers this morning, Osuofia disclosed that the robbers struck as he was away in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, carting away valuables, among them his Mitsubishi Montero Jeep with number plate BU 64 FST, a Toshiba laptop and camcorder. The raided house is located at Phase 6, Tran’s Ekulu, Enugu.
According to the man who played the lead role in Nigeria’s best selling film of all time, Osuofia in London: “I was in Abuja last week Saturday when my neighbours called that it was like my place was burgled, that my gate appeared to be open.
“I asked them to check and they reported back that out of the three vehicles parked in the compound, the Jeep was no longer there. I called my driver and asked him to make a report to the police immediately, which he did.”
