The Police Command in Lagos State has apprehended three suspected robbers and recovered a Bajaj motorcycle and other exhibits in the Idimu area of the state.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed this in a statement on Friday in Lagos.
She noted that the suspects were apprehended on Tuesday at about 2:00 a.m. along Car Wash Bus Stop by First Bank in Idimu area.
“Operatives on routine patrol intercepted the suspects of ages 20, 26 and 30 while they were riding on a motorcycle,” she said
Adebisi said that a search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of a machete concealed in their clothing, an army camouflage uniform, four mobile phones, a power bank, suspected to have been stolen, as well as squeezed naira notes.
She added that a Bajaj motorcycle with registration number AKD 40 OM, used by the suspects to carry out their operations, was also recovered.
The image maker said that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had been involved in robbing unsuspecting members of the public before fleeing the scene.
According to her, the suspects are currently in police custody, while efforts are ongoing to conclude investigations and ensure they are charged to court.
The spokesperson said the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Tijani reiterated the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
She urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency lines.
