Journalists who gathered at the NUJ Press Centrein Awka on Wednesday for a press briefing by the embattled queen,to hear her own side of the story, went home disappointed. The event was called off at the last minute following the news that the queen’s blackmailers had hired assassins to silence her if she spoke to journalists on the recently released sex tapes – which she insists were fabricated.
Attempts byNews Expressto reach Miss Chidinma Okeke on phone failed as her phone was switched off. Her lawyer, Ikenna Obidiegwu, who later spoke on phone, claimed that that her client’s blackmailers were powerful people. He promised that at the appropriate time, their identities would be unveiled.
One of the scandalous sex tapes recently released in three parts showed the queen using a cucumber on herself while another one captured her in a lesbian act with another lady alleged to be her Personal Assistant.
The videos, which have generated huge reactions from all quarters, were allegedly circulated by some people who were accused of wanting some fishy deal with the queen who allegedly turned down their proposal.
The embattled queen, who had earlier disowned the tapes, saying that her face was photoshopped, later took to her Facebook page to write: “The moment I made public this intention to speak with journalists, I have been under siege of threats by my blackmailers and traducers.
“They are seriously threatening to shoot me at the press conference if I ever open my mouth to say the real truth about the ugly episode. Since I have no protection and if I die now the truth will be buried forever, it’s my intention to sacrifice myself to save not just myself but other girls and other upcoming pageant by letting the world know the truth and what we go through.”
Miss Chidinma Okeke further said that her traducers have continued to assemble all manner of expertise and professionals to edit the video and send them in batches, and that she will not be surprised if more videos surface.
The organisers of the Miss Anambra Beauty Pageant, Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), have kept sealed lips, with the MD/CEO, Nze Uche Nworah, saying that the management would not speak on the issue until when the time is appropriate.
