Former Kaduna State Commissioner for Economic Planning Madami Garba Madami, has dismissed reports of the alleged spending of N2.1billion on sweets, juice and food annually by the immediate past administration in the state. He accused the incumbent administration of Nasir El-Rufai of mischief.
A statement issued by Madami, who served as a commissioner in erstwhile governor Ramalan Yero’s administration, said there was no financial code that has to do with the purported N2.1 billion annual spending in 2014-2016 multi-year budget of the state.
The statement, made available to journalists on Wednesday in Kaduna, reads: “I hereby wish to notify the general public that in our 2014-2016 multi-year budget of Kaduna State, there is no any financial code that has to do with the above provision.
“Anybody who is interested in finding out should go to this website www.mobp.kadgov.ng and check.
“We also wish to tell the general public that even the audited account for 2014 budget is a public document that was published on 29 May, 2015 in Business day and Thisday Newspapers respectively. There was nothing related to the above publication by the current Hon. Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning.
“However, the issue of training an accountant to architecture is never done anywhere in the world.
“This is a mislead to good people of Kaduna State and also mischievous to the past government of PDP.
“We appeal to the Hon. Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning to please stop misleading the good people of our dear state.
“We are advising you to concentrate on your campaign promises.”
Mohammed Abdullahi, the current Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, had on Saturday, in Kaduna, alleged that the previous PDP led administration in the state spent N2.1 billion on sweet, juice and food, annually.
