Lagos state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu
The Lagos State government has embarked on a comprehensive statewide valuation of its infrastructural assets.
The government is doing this in partnership with Messrs Jide Taiwo & Co., a renowned firm of estate surveyors and valuers, alongside six other consultancy firms.
This initiative, coordinated by Lagos State Valuation Office (LASVO), aims to identify, measure, document, and report all public infrastructure owned by the government in line with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and international valuation standards.
According to Dr Adekunle Awolaja, Director of LASVO, the exercise forms part of the state’s implementation of IPSAS, aligning with global best practices in public financial management. The valuation will cover over 279 roads, bridges, jetties, and canals across the state, providing a reliable basis for decision-making, budgeting, and long-term infrastructure sustainability.
