In order to stem the tide of kidnapping and cattle rustling in the state, Police detectives attached to Anti kidnapping unit/SARS of the Bauchi State Police Command in collaboration with Danga Security and vigilante group stormed criminal hideouts inhabited by suspected kidnappers at Jauru, Jange, Bahago, Felu and Geji forests, all in Toro LGA of Bauchi State.
According to ASP Mahmoud Mohammed, PPRO, Bauchi State Police Command the operation was successfully carried out and it yielded positive results as two hostages were rescued in good conditions.
The PPRO gave the names of14 arrested suspects as:
1. Umar Gwamna male and 19 years,
2. Ibrahim Yahaya male and 25 years,
3. Hussaini Hamisu male and 20 years,
4. Salisu Adamu male and 20 years,
5. Salmanu Hamisu male and 23 years,
6. Ibrahim M. Hussaini male and 25 years,
7. Abdullahi Hamisu male and 23 years,
8. Yahaya Mai Saje male and 21 years,
9. Lukman Hamisu male and 18 years,
10. Nasiru Halilu male and 20 years,
11. Sani Abdullahi male and 35 Years,
12. Musa Audu male and 22 years,
13. Rabiu Adamu male and the 20 years and,
14. Mohammed S. Abdullahi male and 40 years all of Jana's district of Toro LGA.”
The PPRO also disclosed in a statement issued on Friday that the following exhibits were recovered from the suspects: five motorcycles, three fabricated guns, one single barrel gun and four telephone handsets. The suspects are expected to be changed to court after investigation.
