The new UNIZIK Deputy VCs, Profs Hilda Osisioma and Alex Chinwuba Asigbo

Prof Alex Chinwuba Asigbo of the Department of Theatre Arts and Film Studies has emerged the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), while Prof. Hilda Osisioma of the Department of Business Administration was elected Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).
The elections which was presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 was held at Zephaniah Madubuko Auditorium, Faculty of Social Sciences during the 242nd meeting of the University in Awka.
Prof. Osisioma before emergence as the new VC served as the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Coordinating) for three months.
She is currently at present, the Director of UNIZIK Commercial Ventures and also a former Dean of the Faculty of Arts.
The new deputy VC Academic had served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts, bringing with him a wealth of academic and administrative experience to his new role.
Expectations are that the emergence of the duo will further strengthen the academic and administrative structure of the University in line with its commitment to discipline, self reliance and excellence.
