Nigerian Police Force
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced that it will commence the screening of applicants for the recruitment of 50,000 constables into the Nigeria Police Force on March 9, 2026.
The commission disclosed this in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Torty Njoku Kalu, who said the exercise is part of the ongoing nationwide recruitment of police constables. He explained that only candidates who successfully completed the online registration process would participate in the screening.
According to the statement, the screening exercise will be conducted physically and will involve credential verification across the federation from March 9 to April 18, 2026.
Applicants were directed to log on to the recruitment portal at npfapplication.psc.gov.ng to check their application status and print relevant documents. These include the Guarantors’ Form, Application Submission Slip, Invitation Slip, Credentials Screening Form and Physical Screening Form, which must be presented at the screening venue on the specified date and time.
The statement further listed items required for the screening to include the Invitation Slip (with assigned table number), Credentials Screening Form, original National Identity Number (NIN) printout or card issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), O’Level certificate (GCE/SSCE), birth certificate or declaration of age, local government certificate of origin, and trade test or professional certificates for specialist applicants.
Applicants are also expected to submit duly completed and signed Guarantors’ Forms, accompanied by photocopies and passport photographs of their referees. Original and duplicate copies of all credentials must be neatly arranged in two separate white flat files, with recent passport photographs attached.
In addition, candidates are required to appear at their respective screening venues dressed in white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts and white stockings.
The commission stated that the screening would take place at designated venues in each state and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as indicated on the invitation slips.
The Chairman of the PSC, Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), reiterated that the recruitment exercise is entirely free of charge and involves no financial obligation. He assured applicants that the process would be conducted with transparency and accountability, while cautioning them against scammers and impostors seeking to exploit the exercise. (The Guardian)
