Represented by the deputy governor, Sam Ode, the governor emphasised the importance of the project in alleviating water scarcity issues faced by residents and IDPs in the area.
The newly installed water treatment plant was funded by the European Union (EU) through ECHO, in partnership with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the Benue State Government.
Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, Ior Ikyereve, in a statement, said during the visit, the delegation which held an interactive session with displaced persons at the UBE camp, also witnessed the handover of 600 shelters at the new IDP camp in Naka.
The statement said the shelters, funded by ECHO, were part of a larger project targeting a total of 960 units, with ongoing work on the remaining 360 units.
Ikyereve said the projects aimed to significantly improve living conditions for displaced persons and local communities in the area.
