Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has approved the reduction of the official closing hours for Civil Servants throughout the 2026 Ramadan fasting period.
The directive was conveyed in a circular signed by the Director, Establishments, at the Office of the Head of Civil Service, Ismail Ibn L Garam, and addressed to the Chief Staff Government House.
The circular dated 17 February 2026, explained that the gesture is intended to allow the Muslims civil servants to observe the basic tenants and participate maximally in various acts of worship during the Ramadan period.
The circular reads, “You may wish to be informed that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has granted approval for Civil Servants in the State to officially close work during the 1447AH/2026 Ramadan period as follows:- Mondays-Thursdays Closing time is 3.00pm. Fridays: Closing time remain 1:00pm.
“You are therefore implored to use the period of the Holy month to offer prayers for the progress, development and peaceful co-existence of the State and the Country at large.
“This circular takes effect from the commencement to the end of the 1447AH/2026 Ramadan fasting period, please.” (Daily Trust)
