CJN Kekere-Ekun
The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, will on Wednesday swear in the 14 newly appointed judges of the Federal High Court.
Supreme Court’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Dr. Festus Akande disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
Akande said, “The ceremony, which is scheduled to take place in Courtroom Two of the Supreme Court, Abuja, will commence at 10:00 am. Prompt.
“Members of the public, particularly the Bench, the Bar, Media Organisations and other stakeholders are cordially invited to witness this solemn occasion.
“Strict adherence to the dress code and security protocols is required for entry into the courtroom.
“The Supreme Court of Nigeria appreciates the continued support and cooperation of all stakeholders in the justice sector as we work together to strengthen the administration of justice in our nation.”
The National Judicial Council (NJC) had, on January 22, announced the recommendation 14 lawyers to President Bola Tinubu for appointment as judges of the Federal High Court.
The NJC took the decision at its at its 110th meeting held on January 13 and 14.
The 14 are Suleiman, Amida Hassan (Chief Registrars, Federal High Court); Muhammad, Barau Saidu; Igboko, Chinelo Conchita; Onuegbu, Chioma Angela; Galumje, Edingah; Ibrahim, Vera Eneabo; Abubakar, Musa Usman; and Salihu, Aisha Yunusa.
Others are Ikpeme, Joy Bassey;
Shehu, Umaru Adamu; Mohammed, Ibrahim Buba; Eigege-Binjin, Nendelmum Judith; Usoro, Kuyik Uduak; and Nwoye, Osinachi Donatus. (The Nation)
