Aiyedatiwa
Two Senior media aides to the Ondo state governor, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, have resigned their appointments within the last 48 hours.
They didn’t give any official reasons for their resignation.
They include Pastor Taiwo Ilesanmi Gbamila, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Multimedia to the Governor and Mr Olugbenga Abire, the Special Assistant (SA) on media.
But, it was gathered that many of the governors media aides are planning to resign due to alleged poor treatment, lack of funding and their dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs.
It was learnt that the senior media aides would be the first set to resign while others will follow.
Pastor Taiwo Gbamila, in his resignation letter addressed to the governor and copied to the office of the Secretary to Ondo State Government on Monday, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve.
The letter said “I hereby respectfully tender my resignation from my appointment.”
Abire in farewell message, shared on the Governor’s media platform, highlights the bonds formed in a small team and the challenges faced during their tenure.
He reflected on his time in office since joining the government on December 23, 2023.
According to him “We were just three in the media team. We bonded,” he noted, expressing gratitude for the support he received during this period.
“Sometimes, we faced the frenzy. We shouted where necessary. We kicked. But love continued..
“Tonight, I am emotional to tell us that I have decided to quit as Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor of Ondo State,” he stated, adding, “I will miss all of us but I am still a click away.”
Abire shared an update on his Facebook page, expressing that he had communicated his exit plans to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who prayed for him and sanctioned his decision.
“In our six minutes conversation, he wished me well in my new assignment,” he wrote.
The Secretary to the State Government SSG, Taiwo Fasoranti, could not be reached for comments. (Vanguard)
