The Nigerian constituty
The current Constitution of Nigeria is viewed as a fraud—an arrangement imposed on Nigerians by the military—and is unacceptable to both the Church and the people of Nigeria.
Bishop Wake Oke, the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), made this statement while addressing journalists after the Fellowship’s first-quarter National Executive Council meeting for 2026, held at the PFN National Headquarters in Lagos on Wednesday.
“We totally condemn the current Nigerian Constitution as we ask the Federal Government to repeal it and replace it with a new Constitution that will be balanced and acceptable to all Nigerians”.
He further added that PFN totally condemn the recent aborted coup plot to oust the government of President Tinubu. He said further, “We appeal that the coup plotters are given fair trial and those found guilty given the appropriate punishment to discourage others from plotting coups in the future".
On the issue of the amendment of the mandatory transmission of election results electronically in the electoral bill, he said PFN totally supports the use of the electronic transmission that will help in the conduct of transparent elections in 2027.
PFN also commended President Tinubu’s efforts in countering Terrorism but stressed that the government should wake up and put in more effort to put an end to the killings of Nigerians nationwide.
The National President, Bishop Oke, thereafter prayed for Nigerian Leaders, all Nigerians and for the peaceful conduct of the 2027 elections. (Nigerian Tribune)
