Gov Agbu Kefas
By FIBEMI EMMANUEL GASHIKA
The Taraba Government has commenced another phase of recruitment into the state civil service, with 1,805 vacancies approved for qualified applicants.
The Chairman of the Taraba State Civil Service Commission, Mr Philip Kundila, disclosed this on Thursday at a news conference in Jalingo.
Kundila said the recruitment was in compliance with Gov. Agbu Kefas’ directive to strengthen the state’s workforce by engaging competent and qualified personnel.
He said the exercise followed the successful absorption of 3,187 workers into the civil service in the first phase of the recruitment programme.
The chairman explained that workers previously classified as ‘ghost workers’ after due verification have also been regularised Into the civil service.
“The governor has approved another phase of employment to further strengthen the state civil service after many years without recruitment.
“The exercise is transparent and merit-based, and only qualified candidates will be shortlisted for interview and considered for employment,” he said.
The chairman, further warned applicants against dealing with fraudsters or individuals claiming to have influence on the recruitment process.
“The employment is free. Applicants should not give money to anyone promising to secure jobs for them.
“Candidates are expected to follow due procedures, and only successful applicants will be invited for interview,” Kundila said.
He explained that application forms cost N3,000 and urged applicants to obtain them only through the approved channels.
Kundila, alongside the Permanent Secretary of the commission, Mr David Nyah, commended the state Gov. Kefas for approving the recruitment exercise and for providing funds for the renovation of the commission’s secretariat. (NAN)
