Gov Uzodinma
The National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors – President Tinubu’s main political structure and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma has vowed to deliver Abia State for President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), come 2027.
Uzodinma, who is Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum made the vow in Umuahia while inaugurating the state, zonal and Local Government coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Abia State.
Represented by the Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, the Imo State Governor said President Tinubu has been able to come out with policies that are positively making impacts for the Nigerian economy.
He said Tinubu deserves a second term to consolidate his transformative agenda.
“This inauguration marks our collective commitment to ensuring that Mr President’s Renewed Hope Agenda reaches every household and every community across Nigeria.”
Uzodinma said the Renewed Hope Agenda was not just a campaign slogan but a solemn promise to Nigerians who had suffered years of unfulfilled expectations and economic stagnation.
He said it Is imperative Abia join the mainstream of Nigeria politics, stressing that policies formulated in Abuja can only achieve meaningful impact when they are brought down to the grassroots level.
“I urge you to give your full support, dedication, and commitment to this mandate so that together we can deliver lasting change and renewed confidence in governance.”
Abia State Chairman of APC, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu said there was every reason for the people of Abia in particular and South in general should queue behind President Tinubu in 2027.
“Since the coming on Board of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, in May, 2023, he has demonstrated magnanimity to the people of Southeast.
The signing Into Law and the creation of Southeast Development commission, the approval of Abia Airport and the approval of a Modular Refinery in Abia state and many other ongoing projects, like the NDDC powered solar street lighting acrossmany LGAs in Abia state, reflects his quest for equitable regional integration and in particular, the South East Region.”
Ononogbu equally pointed out the appointment of David Umahi as the minister of Works and that of Uzodinma as the Progressive Governors Forum chairman and his subsequent appointment as the DG of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.
While reeling out other achievements of Tinubu, Ononogbu commended the efforts of some leaders of the party in the state, like Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu, Ikechi Emenike and others for making the party great and vowed APC will take over Abia in 2027.
Earlier, the Abia State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and former Minister of Science and Technology, Chief Henry Ikoh, said the group’s primary mandate was to ensure the re-election of President Tinubu and all APC candidates in Abia State and across the South-East in 2027.
“We have the mandate to re-elect President Tinubu—not just in Abia but across the entire South-East,” Ikoh declared.
Ikoh urged members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to take the campaign to the grassroots, describing the task of delivering Abia to the APC in 2027 as non-negotiable.
Speaking also, former Senator representing Abia Central, Dr. (Mrs) Nkechi Nwogu, said the growing influx of politicians from other parties into the APC was a clear sign of the party’s rising popularity in the state.
Nwogu stared that with the calibre of politicians in APC in Abia presently, the party was well-positioned to win the state in 2027.
“There is now a massive influx into the APC. We have become a big family, and that means we will win from top to bottom in 2027.”
She added that President Tinubu had introduced bold economic policies that are already yielding results, describing the Renewed Hope Ambassadors as critical game-changers in the political re-awakening of Abia.
Meanwhile, the former Executive Secretary of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), Prince Paul Ikonne has said the APC remains the party to beat in Abia ahead of the 2027 polls.
He observed that other parties in the state lack the structure and strength to challenge the APC.
“The PDP is completely dead, the ruling LP is weak, and the ADC is not yet a party. APC will take over Abia in 2027,” Ikonne boasted.
While accusing Otti of running an expensive government, Ikonne insisted that Abia would fare better under APC leadership.
Others who spoke at the event, including the former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Christopher Enweremadu; APC chieftain, Ambassador E. O. Philips; and former APC State Publicity Secretary, Dr Ben Godson, all affirmed the party’s readiness to capture Abia in 2027.
They were of the view that Abia stands to benefit more by aligning with the ruling party at the centre.
“APC will take over Abia in 2027. Most PDP stalwarts and all strong politicians in the state are now in APC,” Godson said. (The Sun)
